Apple Launches iPhone 17e With A19 Chip, Starting at $599

Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 17e, the most affordable entry in its iPhone 17 lineup, packing the latest A19 chip and a redesigned camera system — all starting at $599 with 256GB of storage, double the previous generation at the same price point.

Performance and Intelligence

The A19 processor brings a 6-core CPU with 4-core GPU and Neural Accelerators, making the iPhone 17e up to 2x faster than iPhone 11. The 16-core Neural Engine is specifically optimized for on-device generative models, powering Apple Intelligence features across 15+ languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese.

Apple Intelligence on iPhone 17e includes Live Translation across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone calls, along with Visual Intelligence, Call Screening, and Hold Assist — features previously reserved for higher-end models.

Camera and Display

The 48MP Fusion camera captures next-generation portraits with depth data for people, dogs, and cats. It shoots 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 60fps with Spatial Audio recording and wind noise reduction. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display hits 1200 nits peak HDR brightness, protected by the new Ceramic Shield 2.

Design and Durability

Built with aerospace-grade aluminum and rated IP68 for water resistance up to 6 meters for 30 minutes, the iPhone 17e comes in three colors: black, white, and a new soft pink with a premium matte finish. It features Face ID and an Action button.

Connectivity and Safety

The device includes satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My — free for the first two years. Crash Detection for severe vehicle accidents is also built in.

Sustainability

Apple continues its environmental push with 30% recycled content overall, 85% recycled aluminum in the enclosure, and 100% recycled cobalt in the battery. Manufacturing uses 55% renewable electricity, and packaging is 100% fiber-based.

Availability

iPhone 17e is available for pre-order starting March 4 and hits stores on March 11, 2026, in over 70 countries. Pricing starts at $599 for 256GB or $24.95/month over 24 months.
