Tunisia Launches 192 Digital Projects to Fully Digitize Public Services by 2030

Tunisia's government held a ministerial council on February 13, 2026, at the Government Palace in Qasaba to review progress on 192 digital transformation projects under the country's 2026–2030 Development Plan. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sarah Zafrani Al-Zanzari, marks the official launch of full-scale administrative digitalization.
What's Been Achieved
Tunisia has already completed several flagship digital projects by the end of 2025:
- Unified Gateway for Administrative Services — a single portal for citizen-government interactions
- Electronic stamping system — replacing manual document stamping processes
- Digital Hospital (Phase 1) — digitizing healthcare record management
- National building permits platform — streamlining construction approvals
- Remote ID card services for students — reducing in-person visits
- Export facilitation systems — simplifying trade procedures
- Private company registration systems — enabling online business registration
Strategic Goals
Minister of Telecommunication Technologies Sufyan Al-Hamisi presented the roadmap during the council. The Prime Minister emphasized that the 192 projects aim to:
- Strengthen the national economy through digital efficiency
- Improve public service delivery to citizens
- Combat corruption through transparent digital processes
- Simplify administrative procedures and reduce bureaucracy
- Boost investor confidence with streamlined regulations

- Electronic payment expansion — moving government payments fully digital
- Interlinked citizen services — connecting different ministries through shared platforms
- Cybersecurity and AI integration — incorporating modern security and artificial intelligence into public services

- National outreach plan — educating citizens on using new digital services
Regional Context
Tunisia's digital push comes as the country also secured €15.5 million in EU funding through the Horizon Europe research program, ranking 12th among associated countries and maintaining its position as the strongest Southern Mediterranean country in PRIMA research initiatives. The EU-Tunisia Joint Research and Innovation Committee held its 4th meeting on February 12, further strengthening the partnership.
Additionally, Tunisia is accelerating health sector digitalization through a partnership with Tunisia Telecom, focusing on expanding telemedicine capabilities and adopting Tunisian cloud solutions for national health data sovereignty.
