Tajweed rules
Paste vocalised Arabic — every ruling is coloured letter by letter, with what to actually do with your mouth.
Hafs an Asim · does not cover where to stop, nor rawm and ishmam
Nūn sākinah & tanwīn

Turn the nūn into a hidden mīm with ghunnah before the bā.
Conceal the nūn between clear and merged, with a two-count ghunnah.
Mīm sākinah

Merge the mīm into the mīm that follows, with ghunnah.
Conceal the mīm at the bā with ghunnah, closing the lips lightly.
Qalqalah

Ghunnah
Hold the nasal ghunnah for two counts on the doubled nūn and mīm.
The madd
Stretch for two counts — no more, no less.
Stretch four or five counts — the hamza is in the same word.
Stretch two, four or five counts — the hamza opens the next word.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the text have to be vocalised?
Every ruling here turns on sukūn, tanwīn or shadda, and none of those are visible in unvocalised Arabic. The tool says so rather than returning an empty result that looks like "no rules here". Run your text through the tashkeel tool and paste it back.
Which recitation is this?
Hafs an Asim, the reading used in most of the Muslim world. Rulings can differ in other riwayat.
Why are some rulings dashed?
Because they only apply if you stop on that word — qalqalah kubra at the end of a word, for instance. Where you stop is your decision, so the tool marks it rather than asserting it.
Does it handle where to stop?
No. Waqf and ibtida depend on meaning and on the mushaf's own stop marks. That is a separate discipline and this tool does not attempt it.
Can I use it on non-Quranic Arabic?
Yes, it runs on any vocalised Arabic — though the rulings themselves exist for Quranic recitation.
